So, tell us who you are…

Hey! I’m Tracie. Gazing up at the sky, and standing with my feet on the soil, or in the sand, fuels my soul. A hot cup in my hands is part of my meditative process. I love bookstores, coffee shops, spas, working for myself, buying new journals, and writing words that feel like balm. I’m very grateful for my unconventional life.

And what exactly do you do?

I write. I’m a registered nurse specializing in holistic and integrative health and healing. I previously worked in the operating room, and have seen all manner of life and death, so I’m big on encouraging you to honor the precious life you have and live it to the fullest.

I’ve written everything from lifestyle blog posts, to health and wellness, faith and spirituality, and online courses. I have a master’s degree in nursing education and enjoy simplifying what the world often overcomplicates.

Nowadays, I also write poetry, because I know the healing power of the words we speak, write and ruminate on. I call them meditations. Here’s a dose for you to sample.

Why did you start this newsletter?

I’ve been creating free content on the internet for over a decade, and the online world has evolved so much since I began my journey. Although, I love social media, it’s not the most reliable way to communicate with you. I wanted something simple. A way to, sort of, return to my roots, and enjoy the craft of writing again. Then, along came Substack. An opportunity to joyfully write words that help people.

About the name: a remedy is a type of treatment. So, The Remedy newsletter is my way of creating a space for you to minimize the external demands, mend what’s in need of your attention, and meditate on what truly matters to you. Anything goes here, but I’ll mainly be talking about wellness, self-care, relaxation and intentional living.
